The world is getting crazier and crazier. The idiotic messages that are left on FB from people allegedly working in the health profession are very concerning indeed. Well, here’s my response to the latest one paragraph by paragraph written by a young lady called Kelly Scimera on the 18th July.
So crazy how me and every single person that works at my hospital have normal oxygen levels when we’re required to wear an n95 mask, surgical mask over it, and a face shield.
Congratulations on having normal oxygen levels in the first place and having the elasticity in your lungs to be able to breathe in more deeply when you require more oxygen. Many people do not have this capacity and it is worrying that someone in the health profession does not know this.
I am also quite concerned that as you are wearing a face shield it will direct any viral particles onto the patient that you are attending.
I am equally concerned that you believe that your masks will prevent transmission of virus. Flies and chicken wire are a good analogy.
I managed, in my nursing days, to care for people without looking like something out of Dr Who episode and not once did I manage to infect any of my patients. Now that is really something.
So weird that women/family I know GAVE BIRTH while wearing a face mask and their oxygen was okay.
That IS really weird. I managed to give birth to all my children without wearing a mask as did most of my generation who were pretty stoic. I am sure that all that shouting and swearing helped oxygenate the lungs.
However, I do not know of many 70 year olds with poor lung capacity giving birth. Maybe I have missed this development. Maybe you need to undertake a comparative study to see if 70 year olds, with poor lung function, are able to give birth in a mask without their oxygen levels dropping.
Now that would be incredible.
Incredible that my 90 year old patient can perform strenuous activities while wearing a mask and her oxygen is okay.
. Now, that is incredible. However, things are only defined as incredible when they are not the norm. Makes you wonder why she needs a health care professional if she is so fit
Amazing that actual patients recovering from covid can tolerate wearing a mask all day.
This is really strange, I must admit. However, you don’t distinguish between whether they are wearing an oxygen mask to help keep them alive or one of those face coverings designed to help the wearer reduce their oxygen levels even further and breath viral particles deeper into their lungs, neither of which appear to be acts of compassion.
So if you’re an anti mask person, instead of making up fake facts about you oxygen dropping while wearing a flimsy cloth mask, just stop lying and say that you just don’t care if other people die because of you.
Clearly a drama queen that hasn’t done her homework. People have died because they were wearing masks. It’s called asphyxiation. If you read the papers you will find recent examples of this.
I am sure that the mothers of the two boys who died because of hypoxia when wearing masks would not agree with you either nor come to think of it:
If we were to wear flimsy cloth masks then if you really understood virus at all then you would realise that that would be like trying to contain a fly through chicken wire. That is, they are no earthly use at all.
However, carbon dioxide molecules are larger and would be contained in a mask and would be rebreathed in. Already, we have people who have succumbed to respiratory bacterial infection because they were wearing a mask.
The longer term effects of mask wearing are damaged immune system, damaged brain due to hypoxia, mental health problems, increase in respiratory infection, psychological damage, inability of large sections of society to engage in community life.
For example, there are 12 million people in the UK who suffer from some form of hearing impairment and rely on lip reading to supplement residual loss. Never mind the people who would lose any residual sight that they had if they wore masks so would not be able to go out without support which would put an even greater strain on our health and social care system
That isn’t a definitive list but I’m sure you get the point.

- The lady who passed out in the supermarket whilst wearing a mask because it caused hypoxia or
- The gentleman who was wearing a mask when driving a car wearing a mask who passed out and was informed by police it occurred due to hypoxia because of wearing a mask.
